Late Night / Early Morning Ideas

About 2:00 this morning I had an insight as to how to layout my dissertation chapters. Yes, I did get out of bed, go into the office, and jot down my ideas. I even came up with a preliminary title. Not sure if it will stick. If anyone is reading, what do you think of this title:

Journals / Blogging: How Did Our Most Private Thoughts Become Social Media Fodder?

Wasted Day...

I spent well over 2 hours looking for one statement from Aristotle's Politics. Searching the document did not work. I knew it was there, and when I finally found it I was totally burnt out!!

Hoping for a more productive day tomorrow.

Time to Start Writing!!

I emailed my Director with a question yesterday..."How do I know when to stop reading and start writing?" I received his response today. "No more books in the lit review. Stop now. You can incorporate new material in the project as you proceed. The lit review is not a limit, it's an account of the basic conversation(s) in which the project is located."

It is time to get the proposal written and the whole process moving forward!!

Today, I write!!!

Back at it this Afternoon

Well, since D is back at work, I guess I need to get back to work also.

After my doctor's appointment in about an hour, I will be hitting the books again. I was able to pick up several that I had requested at PSU while D was on vacation, so I have a whole new stack of reading material to enjoy.

My Husband is on Vacation from Work...

Therefore, I am getting nothing done towards my dissertation. We are working around the house and spending some time together. I will get back at it next week.

Not Making Much Headway...

This weekend was a total wash with research as it was my niece's dance recital. I received 2 new books and have decided to move forward with those. One is from the Routledge Critical Thinkers series, just titled Hannah Arendt. The other is titled Drawing the Line: Public and Private in America. I found it interesting, as I was skimming through the second that my old condominium plan is mentioned as the only private condominium complex to become its own municipality...that was back in 1977. But it is always neat to see something you can really connect to in a book; especially when you were so not expecting it.

If I'm Writing a Dissertation About Blogging...I Should be Blogging It!

Well, as I move forward on my research and get deeper into my project it seems odd that I am not blogging my progress on my dissertation on blogging. That changes today.

Also, hopefully this will keep me accountable to get something done each day on my research and writitng.

Back to the books! :-)
